History

The Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance was founded in 2003 by a group of community leaders representing nonprofits, foundations, businesses and individuals all committed to building a strong nonprofit sector in Arkansas. The vision of the founding board was a statewide, unified voice for nonprofits that raised the level of performance through best practices, provided support through resources, and advocated on behalf of all charitable nonprofits.

Since its inception, the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance has worked vigorously to build a stronger, more vibrant nonprofit sector in Arkansas. The Alliance accomplishes this effort through its strong membership base, professional development, technical assistance, research, information sharing, and network building. In addition to its other programs, Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance advocates on behalf of all nonprofits on public policy issues affecting the sector at the state and national level.

Today, the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance is recognized as a full member of the National Council of Nonprofits and our membership of nearly 800 represents all four corners of the state and everywhere in between.

Our missions are diverse, but our goal is the same – to improve the quality of life for all Arkansans.
